Behind the Chase Documentary + Commercial

Being a car guy, I’ve marveled at how commercials, feature films and TV shows have gotten such incredible car shots over the years. I’ve worked with Chase Car Inc. since 2009 and when they offered me a chance to produce a series of 3 commercials in conjunction with a Beverly Hills Porsche campaign, we leapt at the opportunity to film these majestic vehicles tear some asphalt up.

Shot with a small crew of dedicate multi-talented filmmakers over a single day at the famous Willow Springs International Raceway in Kern County, California, we shot 3 commercials and this Behind the Scenes documentary focusing on the Chabot brothers who started Chase Car Inc (previously Camera Car Industries) from the ground up. In filming the documentary, we had a really surreal moment where the elusive, normally hidden Porsche Panamera Chase Car (designed matte black to be as stealthy as possible) became the star of the show when filmed from the older Porsche Cayenne camera car. 

On top of featuring some stunning, world class imagery of our picture vehicles in action, Behind the Chase provides an in-depth look at how the Chabot Brothers conceived their revolutionary Porsche Panamera Chase Car, it’s unique features, and most importantly – the heart and soul of why they do what they do.
